YOU HAVE A CHARACTER NAMED AENEAS.

Knowing almost nothing else about you beyond that you play Peter at CM now, where I play Remus and should have introduced myself but didn't get the chance because I was in Africa learning about DIDO AND AENEAS, you have won favor with me.

HELLO AND I ADDED YOU BACK.

I actually know very little about Aeneas :( Except what is on the wikipedia page. But I love the name because he can get teased about how it sounds like a certain body part. And yes I sometimes have the sense of humor of a 12 year old >> HOWEVER I think it is pretty cool that you studied him.

Also. That you did it in Africa. Jealous. If I had money I would go to Benin.

Awesome!

Haha, sweet! To be fair, you really don't need to know anything else about Aeneas unless you're a classics major who plans on studying something that has so much existing scholarship it's probably physically impossible to write anything new about it it. So if you want to be the most useless person in a useless profession, you will need to know a great deal more about Aeneas. Until then, I imagine you're just fine. xD

Nice! I have never been there. What sparked your interest in Benin? I mostly stuck to Tunisia, since it has so much Roman culture and history, but I was fascinated by how different the modern culture is. And by how many interesting kinds of bugs managed to bite me.

Yep I have very little use for the classics - it just seems like most people I know do actually know a lot about the, which is probably odd. But my area of study is Japan, so that's veeeery different.

I have a friend living there for the Peace Corps. I read her blog (which she has time to write) and it sounds amazing and I really wish I could go visit her.

See, we would-be-classics-profs are just praying that universities don't figure out that you're not alone in that respect. I can imagine, though! Do you take Japanese? I'm so intimidated by the vastly different alphabet. Just looking at Asian languages leaves me curled up in the fetal position repeating Latin conjugations and Swedish pronunciation rules.

That's impressive. Now you have me googling Benin!
