Late, yes. But do it.

Give me one of my characters and one of yours, and I'll tell you how they end up together and what their first-born is like, even if they are unqualified to have children. I will probably also give you a PB.

Shack and Shaq (Shack Attack?)
[info]rainbowling

The year was 2009 and Kingsley Shacklebolt hadn't had a vacation in three years. He likely wouldn't take one for another three had his undersecretary arranged an international portkey for him behind his back and gotten in touch with Garrison, essentially forcing him to go visit his family in Phoenix, Arizona.

He knew who Shaquille O'Neal was - he'd played Quidditch for the American national team (and was the only good player on the team) in his early twenties before quitting to concentrate on basketball. Kingsley was a big fan, so when Garrison mentioned that Shaq had "chirped" or "twittled" or something (whatever that was) that he was at 5 & Diner, the two brothers decided to go meet him.

They didn't hit it off right away, to be fair. Shaquille didn't have fond memories of losing to the British team, and they had an argument over who would pay, with Kingsley's unfamiliarity with the American Dollar causing him to lose. He didn't like losing.

The two Shacklebolts thought it would be the last they would see of the NBA superstar, the next day he "twiddled" again. This man Shaq had just met was the Minister for Magic in Britain? He'd had no idea. He wanted to make up for his rudeness. They went out. They went out again. They went out a third time and no one but Kingsley was surprised.

It was a difficult relationship, since both had large commitements on opposite sides of the world, but Shack could send international portkeys for Shaq and when Shaq finally retired from basketball for good, they decided to finally tie the knot and start their family.

SHAQUELINE SHACKLEBOLT-O'NEAL

- Adopted, since Kingsley has a weak spot for orphans. Also because two men can't actually procreate.
- Tall, like her dads.
- Shaq taught her how to play basketball at an early age.
- Shack taught her how to ride a broom from a early age.
- First word was "Shiiiiiit." Second was "Kazaam!" Both Shack's fault, though Shaq was not that amused with the second.
- Gryffindor.
- Will grow up to be a famous dueller.

Petra was the first one on the scene when Sturgis was mugged on his way home from his third (and last) day of work at McDonald's. Sturgis tries to normally make the story a bit more exciting (and less pathetic on his part) and Petra lets him. She really doesn't mind - she knows most men might have issue with their wife being the primary breadwinner and about five times as deadly, but Sturgis doesn't and she loves him for that. And then she trains him more.

They waited to have children until after the war ended. They knew it was a risk, that one or both of them might not make it out alive, but Petra really couldn't without losing out on valuable opportunities as a spy within the Ministry, and they didn't want another able-bodied Order member out of commission due to pregnancy.

So the day the war ended, they jumped right into bed. Well, not literally. There was a lot to do even when the war was "done," and it wasn't until three years later that they actually set to begin their family. It took a little while, but eventually they had success and before long little Petra was getting odd looks when she'd go off on her own from people who obviously thought she was a knocked-up teenager - or at least until they spotted her wedding ring.

Sturgis was about the best father any child could ask for - he would even laugh when his son peed on him, and that said nothing of the waking up in the middle of the night constantly when Petra worked the overnight shift, the cereal-feeding, the piggy-back rides, and the make-believe games. Petra came home one evening to overhear Stugis telling tales of Petra capturing all the dark wizards and how there weren't any monsters under the bed because they were all too afraid of Mummy.

They had three more after that.

Alfred Josef Podmore

- Called Alfie.
- A total wild child as a toddler. The boy had a ridiculous amount of energy but he slept very very well at night. And all through the night.
- Ravenclaw
- Grew up to train wild magical animals.

Andy/Annie

t was hard for Annie after Toby died, hard for her to get back into a normal life, a normal routine. She'd expected that month to be significant for being the first time she would attend a wedding, but instead it was the first time she attended a funeral.

Andy was the only one of the LEFG she continued to talk to after the funeral aside from those unexpected run-ins that simply resulted in awkward looks and sad smiles. She never really questioned it - she and Andy had always talked even through the rough times, and now that Annie was facing the roughest time she'd ever known, she was glad for his friendship.

It was two years before they went on a proper date, two years that began with Annie crying on Andy's shoulder, Annie discussing her reluctance to put away the engagement ring, Andy accompanying Annie to Toby's grave, then eventually turned to simply sharing their days with each other, going to see a movie, helping Annie get re-acquainted with what was left of the LEFG, and once even making out while drunk. It was after the make-out that Annie asked Andy out and before another two years passed, Annie found herself engaged once again.

Amber Ale Keller

PB: Phoebe Tonkin

- Annie doesn't remember the night Amber was conceived. She knows which night it was, it being the only night they didn't use protection that month (since they weren't planning on starting a family just yet and Annie was having issues finding a birth control that was right for her), but she doesn't remember the actual night. Nor does Andy, actually, though he remembers the hangover the next day.
- Did not inherit either of her parent's powers. Instead she can spontaneously change the color of her skin.
- Is a total lightweight.
- Plays pool best while drunk.
- Loves poetry and Shakespeare. This is a little weird to Andy and Annie.
- Goes to Marvellous High, of course.
- Will move to Europe for three years in her mid-twenties before coming home after quitting her job. Always plans to move back to Europe, but doesn't since she meets someone she will eventually marry.

Marla/Annie!

(Reply to this) (Thread)

NOTE: I wrote this back in July and never commented with it. So they were still in class together and Annie and Toby weren't dating yet. I edited it a little bit to incorporate Marla getting her body back.

Marla and Annie
It started off as a joke. A prank, really, since neither Annie nor Marla were laughing when, after two months of being partners in Poisons and Antidotes class, they realized that they were both dating the same boy. Annie was actually surprised that it took that long for them to realize, but when they did figure it out, all those little tiny coincidences finally made sense. Like when Annie and Toby went to the movies and Toby said right off that he wouldn't see The Taking of Pelham 123 since he'd just seen it with his mother, when earlier that day Marla told Annie about seeing it on a date and how good it was.

It was that Poisons and Antidotes class that proved to be Toby's undoing. The two girls decided they wouldn't confront him about it - no, they were going to have fun with it, since dating two girls at the same time? That was low.

Before long, Annie made sure to constantly drop Marla's name around Toby while Annie talked about how she and Marla were becoming such good friends. The pinnacle of their plan happened one day at one of Neopolis' parties where, right in front of Toby, Annie "drunkenly" confessed her love for Marla and spent the rest of the evening glued to each other's hips. Had it been physically possible, they certainly would have made out.

Wanting to make it realisitic, Annie and Marla kept up the ruse, telling nobody, and soon became Neopolis' most surprising lesbian couple. They were such good friends by this point that it was easy to keep it up, at least until month four, when Marla came to Annie to break it off. Marla told Annie she couldn't keep doing it, it wasn't fair to Annie or to herself.... since Marla was finding that she had real feelings for Annie. She couldn't understand why Annie was laughing at this until Annie confessed she had been dealing with the same thing too.

Four years later they were still going strong, including that horrible few days when Annie thought that she had just lost Marla. She was devastated, but when Marla returned and in her own body, Annie was overjoyed. When Prop 8 was finally repealed, they got married. A few months later they decided to adopt and a stork arrived at their window, giving them a daughter.

Julie Brewski Tudor

- Julie isn't physically related to her moms, so her powers are nothing like either Annie or Marla's. Instead, Julie is super-duper bendy. Her bones can even bend, so it's not just like she's double-jointed. She can literally tie herself up in a knot or turn her head around 180 degrees. She does the last one often to freak people out.

- Julie has Annie's love of talking to people, though she isn't a fan of big crowds.

- Marla tries to teach her how to brew magic potions, but she hates it and so Annie sometimes turned water into the potion for her and let Julie pretend she brewed it. Then Marla found out and they had a big fight about it, and Annie never did it again but Marla also cut Julie some slack with the potion-brewing.

- Julie took gymnastics classes for years and regrets that she can't actually make the US Olympic team because of her powers. She ended up being a dancer.

ALSO. The beginning of the third paragraph was supposed to say this instead: Before long, Annie made sure to constantly drop Marla's name around Toby while Marla talked about how she and Annie were becoming such good friends.

I MIXED UP THE NAMES A BIT.

Corona Cox

It seemed apt that this started when Annie decided Christian shouldn't drink alone since that was essentially how their friendship began. They'd hung out in groups numerous times outside of the dormitories - they'd gone clubbing, there was the trip to Chicago, countless parties - but it wasn't until one day when Christian mentioned that he was drinking alone in his room that Annie ever actually hung out one-on-one.

He made a good friend and somehow his pessimism and her optimism never really clashed. They'd hung out quite a few times, drinking, watching movies, playing video games, before she brought over Hedwig and the Angry Inch and jokingly mentioned that she had never seen the middle of the movie, just the beginning and the end. Neither had some of her friends from high school, in fact, and they used to joke that it was cursed.

She would never know if it was the power of suggestion or perhaps the movie really was cursed, but yet again Annie only saw the first fifteen minutes of the movie. Needless to say, she and Christian spent the rest of the movie hooking up.

It wasn't awkward the next day, persay, though Annie wasn't exactly sure what was going on. Things just seemed like they always had, and Annie pushed it out of her mind as a one-time thing until about a week and a half later when it happened again. Before long it became more frequent and they talked about it, and both were pretty happy with the friends-with-benefits situation. It was just sex (well, not right away but soon enough), but a little better than a "just sex" situation because Christian was a good friend, someone she enjoyed sharing the experience with.

The pregnancy was a surprise. Well, it was an accident and it was a surprise to Annie, though Christian just sighed and said it was just his luck even though Annie was on birth control and he was still using protection. They talked about getting rid of it, but after quite a bit of thought Annie decided she couldn't - perhaps it was that she never had a mother herself, perhaps it was just that she was that kind of girl, perhaps she just understood fully the struggle of a single parent and decided she could do it, but Annie wanted to keep the baby. Christian wasn't happy with the entire situation, but when he thought about it he knew that somewhere in the back of his mind he knew that with his luck he'd end up fathering a child, and if it was going to be anyone's, Annie wasn't a bad choice. At least it wasn't the cougar.

Annie ended up having primary custody, but for two young, unmarried parents, things went along fairly smoothly and Christian was pretty prominent in Corona's life, at least until she was 9 and he died from a freak accident - a combination of a weak spot in his brain, a badly positioned baseball bat in the seat next to him, a jealous ex-lover with a Hummer, and a tiger escaped from the zoo.

Corona's powers, by the way, was that she could also transmutate beer, except that each flavor of beer she had gave people a different kind of luck. The her lager gave bad luck, her IPA gave good luck but only in the bedroom, and she doesn't make her porter anymore. There were too many deaths.

The last icon is such a Christian face.
